What is banq?

banq is the product of a group of financial technology experts who share a common vision of what mobile banking should be.

Our diverse team crosses all ages, lifestyles and social boundaries. Educated by places like Harvard, MIT, Columbia, University of Illinois Urban Champaign, USC, Academia De Stiinte Economice, and other institutions large and small, we have backgrounds at Google, Facebook, Prime Trust, WR Hambrecht, Wyoming Department of Banking, US Bank, and Northern Trust, among others.

We all share a burning desire to deliver mobile-optimized banking, trust, crypto and other financial services with friendly, frictionless, welcoming services and technology.

Scott Purcell

Scott is the CEO and Chief Trust Officer of Prime Trust, the technology-driven trust company that provides custody, trustee, escrow, AML, KYC, payment processing, accounting, and compliance for numerous fintech innovators. Prior to forming Prime Trust, Scott founded FundAmerica, a financial technology firm providing software and back-office services to securities issuers and real estate syndicators raising capital online for their businesses and projects. In 1994 he founded Epoch Networks, one of the very first commercial internet service providers, and in 1999 he founded OnAir Streaming Networks, the first compliance music encoding and streaming service. During the early years of the internet, he served on the Board of the Commercial Internet exchange and was on retainer to the Recording Industry Association of America, often representing both the internet and music industries before Congress and regulators.

Kevin Lehtiniitty

Kevin brings a decade of new-product experience in the tech industry. He started his entrepreneurial career at a young age by founding TINITT, a consulting company that worked on the mobile app strategies for a range of companies from small startups like Handle to Google and other Fortune 500 companies. During his tenure, Kevin became a fellow in the prestigious Kairos Society as well as a member of Peter Thiel?s ?20 under 20? community. As Chief Product Officer at Prime Trust, Kevin is responsible for all product management and engineering integrations for a global SaaS stack of financial services. Prior to Prime Trust, Kevin was part of the product management team at Strata Decision Technology, an Inc. 5000 company in the healthcare software industry acquired by Roper Industries. In his spare time, Kevin has helped aspiring entrepreneurs by lecturing at Purdue University and the University of Illinois, teaching a version of Stanford?s ?How to Start a Startup? course at the University of Illinois, and speaking at TEDx events and other conferences.

Melissa Laci

Melissa brings a strong UI and product marketing focus to the team. She started her career in 2004 at CIP Marketing?Adidas US?as the head visual merchandising for the San Francisco Bay Area. She then joined Muscle Milk as the advertising manager, where she created print ads and product packages that are still in use today. In 2008 she relocated to Las Vegas for Zappos.com to start their social media and video blog team. Her unique and authentic marketing style put Zappos on the map as a leader on the social frontier, and she was invited to speak at several large conferences on why social media isn?t something brands can afford to ignore. She then became interested in empathetic design and the role UX plays in creating meaningful customer experiences. In 2011, Melissa officially switched her focus from social to product and 2013 she co-founded Meno Design, a small product design studio in San Francisco. Some notable projects from her studio include the BevMo! ClubBev! Loyalty Program, Cisco UCS product marketing and web design, and the cisco.com navigational framework. Outside of the office, you can find her either kickboxing at the gym or at home in her kitchen making healing home foods and sourdough rounds, harvesting from her garden and having fun with her kids ages 4 and 7.

George Georgiades

George is the General Counsel at Prime Trust, working with customers, shareholders and regulators on a wide range of services to support financial innovation. Prior to joining Prime Trust, he served as a corporate and securities attorney in New York with broad experience working with broker-dealers, investment advisors and funding portals on regulatory compliance matters, as well as representing private and public issuers on finance and general corporate matters. Since 2011, he has actively supported the implementation of the JOBS Act reforms and has worked proactively with crowdfunding portals, service providers, industry associations and regulators to guide them as they implement the new regulations. George has served as in-house Counsel to Garrison Investment Group LP, the investment advisor with $4.2 billion AUM; Associate Counsel and Compliance Officer at Maxim Group, a FINRA registered broker-dealer; and Associate at Ellenoff Grossman & Schole, a prominent securities and corporate finance law firm.

Rodrigo Vicuna

Rodrigo has over 10 years of experience at the intersection of financial services and technology. He is the CFO of Prime Trust and prior to that was the CFO of BitGo, one of the world?s largest digital asset custodians. Rodrigo also worked at the Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on the digitalization of legacy capital markets infrastructure and service providers. He co-authored BCG's global perspective on emerging fintech trends and potential opportunities for traditional finance to innovate. He also led the modernization of consumer loans for one of Chile's largest banks. Rodrigo guest-lectures for Carnegie Mellon University's Chief Risk Officer and Chief Information Security Officer executive education programs.

Jimmy Bingham

Jimmy is an entrepreneurial executive with over 35 years of hands-on expertise in growing successful businesses in several sectors. In the real estate industry, he received honors including Century 21?s prestigious ?Centurion Producer Award," which is earned by the top 1% of real estate agents in the world. In the fitness industry, Jimmy was on the executive team and a board member of 24 Hour Fitness and LA Fitness. He also directly founded multiple fitness entities, including Athletic Performance Improvement and Club Fitness. With his ability to thrive in social settings, Jimmy managed to achieve more than his fifteen minutes of fame in the entertainment industry that include modeling and television. Not to stop short in entertainment ventures, Jimmy has also had success in the music industry in the form of songwriting with famous country music group Rascal Flatts and country music artists Chris Cagle and Jake Owen. Fintech is the latest industry Jimmy has entered and is thriving in. An original member of the team at FundAmerica, he became VP of Business Development at Prime Trust, and now joins the banq team as SVP Business Development. Jimmy?s passion and unique combination of talents in the real estate, fitness, entertainment, music, internet, and fintech industries give him the ability to understand, manage and innovate business development strategies that achieve key business development goals and revenue growth.

Jim Green

Jim brings over a decade?s worth of leadership, quality assurance, culture development and customer service experience. He refined his craft at one of the most renowned customer service companies in the world, working for nearly 15 years at Zappos.com. Besides his primary role at Zappos managing its customer contact center, he was a key member of the Zappos Insights team training other companies looking to build great customer service centers themselves. Jim takes tremendous pride in creating great customer experiences, and in 2018 Zappos won the Stevie award for best customer service company. He was recruited from Zappos to lead the 125-person customer service team for the U.S. operations of the European challenger bank Monzo. This was his introduction into the finance industry and helped him shape what great customer experiences look like in a more heavily-regulated field. On a personal level, Jim grew up in Las Vegas, and is a rock-climbing enthusiast. You can catch him out at Red Rock or in the local climbing gym nearly every day of the week!

Skyler Sullivan

Skyler has nearly a decade of content production and social media management experience. She began her career working in TV as a host, actress, and producer, with four different shows broadcast in the U.S., Philippines, and China. She began working as a photographer and videographer, forming her blog and personal stylist company, Skyler The Styler, in 2011. From there, she took her stylist and photography skills to the corporate world, becoming one of the first ?social stylists? and influencers for Gap, Inc. During her time at Gap she embraced many different roles, working with social media, product, and visual merchandising. In her spare time, Skyler loves traveling, thrift and vintage shopping, and creating content for her blog.

Jon Jiles

Jon brings 17 years of experience as a corporate attorney and entrepreneur with extensive experience in business development, financing, and startups in the fields of banking, healthcare, and entertainment. He has overseen the creation and development of over 30 successful companies. Jon?s current holdings employ over 1,000 people. He is Chairman of Valir Health, the largest provider of physical, speech and occupational therapy services in Oklahoma. Jon is also chairman of the governing body of a joint hospital venture between Valir and the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, the largest provider of medical services in the state. Jon serves as Chairman of Prime Trust, is the current operating manager of numerous successful real estate and investment companies and is a seasoned entrepreneur.

Christina Favilla

Christina (Chris) Favilla is an experienced financial industry professional who now enjoys guiding and supporting the strategic direction of public and private companies in fintech, banking and financial services. She is a seasoned banker with a proven track record of growing business platforms in a volatile regulatory environment. In several companies, Chris has successfully led large strategic shifts to meet the demanding needs of today?s financial markets. She served as Chief Operating Officer for GE Capital America from February 2012 to June 2017, with direct responsibility for $100 billion in assets across Canada, Mexico and the United States. She led a diverse team of 2,500 people across 33 locations and interacted with over 20,000 vendors. She previously served as the President of Discover Bank from 2006 to 2012. With both an IT and Operational background she has the ability to quickly assess and implement the necessary changes in anticipation of positive outcomes.
